KANSAS CITY LIONEL CLUB

K.C.L.C.

An "O" Scale Model Railroad Club

Brief History

The club was formed in 1989 by 6 individuals to build a 3 rail "O" Gauge

that could be transported to local train shows. Throughout the years we have

setup the clubs layout two or three times a year for public shows. For eight

years we were fortunate to have permanent locations where we could leave the

layout set up between shows. During those years we were able to work on the

layouts (we have built three) and several of us would gather once a week and

work on the layout, talk and run trains. Four years ago the strip mall we

had been setting up at and meeting in finally ran out of normally vacant

space. Since that time we had only been attending shows and meeting

occasionally at a members house. We are now located at Union Station and are

associated with other gauge model railroaders of Train Town. This again give

us to opportunity to solicit new members/friends, improve our existing

layout or build a new one, promote "O" Gauge, promote model railroading and

watch the faces of young kids as the visit Train Town at Union Station and

Shows. Even though we are named "Lionel" we all own and run all makes of "O"

Gauge. Anyone is welcome to come by our layout at Union Station with a train

and run it on the layout. Just come by and visit. If you like what you see

and want to get more involved we will be happy to discuss that with you

also.
